The short version

  • We do not collect, store, or sell personal information — from adults or children.
  • There are no ads, no third-party analytics, no social plug-ins, and no tracking SDKs in the app.
  • The app never asks for permission to track you and does not use the advertising identifier (IDFA).
  • Your child's progress lives on your device and, if you use iCloud, in your own iCloud account. We cannot see it.
  • Purchases are handled by Apple. We never see your name, address, or payment details.
  • The app works completely offline.

Who is behind Tonmi

Tonmi is developed and published by Barış Ercan, an independent developer. If you have any question about privacy, write to hello@tonmi.app.

What the app stores on your device

To work, Tonmi keeps a small amount of information in the app's own storage on your iPhone or iPad:

  • Settings you choose in the parent corner (sessions per sitting, rest time, progression mode, questions per session, daily goal).
  • Progress: the current level, how many sessions were played each day, and recent answers used to calculate accuracy and unlock the next color.
  • Stickers your child has collected.
  • A random identifier created on the first launch. It is not derived from your device, is not linked to you, and is never sent anywhere. It exists only so that a future, anonymous usage count could be kept without any personal data; today nothing is sent at all.
  • The highest attribution value reported so far (see "Ad attribution" below), so the app never reports it twice.

None of this identifies you or your child. Deleting the app deletes all of it. You can also reset statistics, stickers, or everything from the parent corner at any time.

iCloud sync

If your device is signed in to iCloud, Tonmi stores the same progress and settings in your own iCloud account using Apple's key-value storage, so a second iPhone or iPad with the same Apple ID picks up where the first one left off.

This data belongs to your iCloud account. It goes from your device to Apple's servers and back; it never passes through us, and we have no way to access it. Apple's handling of iCloud data is described in Apple's privacy policy.

Resetting progress in the parent corner also clears the synced copy. Signing out of iCloud on a device stops syncing for that device.

Purchases and subscriptions

Tonmi Plus is sold through Apple's App Store as in-app purchases (monthly and yearly subscriptions, or a one-time lifetime purchase). Apple processes the payment and keeps your billing information. We never receive your name, address, email, or payment details.

The app asks Apple's StoreKit only whether the current Apple ID has an active purchase, so it can unlock Plus features. That check contains no personal information and works with Family Sharing.

You can review, change, or cancel subscriptions at any time in your App Store account settings: Manage subscriptions. Refunds are handled by Apple: Request a refund from Apple.

Ad attribution (no tracking)

Tonmi does not use the advertising identifier, never shows the "Ask App Not to Track" prompt, and contains no advertising or social-media SDKs.

If we ever run an ad for Tonmi on the App Store or elsewhere, Apple's privacy-preserving attribution framework (SKAdNetwork / AdAttributionKit) may tell the advertising network that some install came from that campaign and reached a coarse milestone, such as "finished onboarding" or "made a purchase". These signals are generated and delivered by iOS, carry no identifier for you or your device, are delayed and aggregated by Apple, and cannot be linked back to you. We use nothing else.

Children's privacy

Tonmi is designed for children aged 2 to 6 and is built to comply with the U.S. Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA), the GDPR's rules for children, and Apple's guidelines for apps used by children. The simplest way to comply is our approach: we collect no personal information from anyone.

Every screen a child sees is free of text, links, and purchases. Settings, purchases, and links to the outside (including this website) are behind a parent gate that asks a multiplication question. There is no chat, no user-generated content, and no external web browsing inside the app.

This website

tonmi.app is a static website. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or tracking scripts, and loads no fonts or scripts from third parties. If you switch languages, nothing is stored.

The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any host, Cloudflare processes the technical data needed to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse (for example your IP address, for a short time); see Cloudflare's privacy policy. We do not receive or keep this data.

Your rights

Because we hold no personal data about you or your child, there is nothing for us to access, correct, export, or delete. Deleting the app removes all local data, and the reset options in the parent corner clear the iCloud copy.

If you believe we have received personal information by mistake, or you have any privacy question, write to hello@tonmi.app and we will answer as quickly as we can. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

Changes to this policy

If the app ever starts collecting anything new — for example anonymous usage counts — we will update this page first, change the "Last updated" date, and describe the change in the app's release notes. We will never add personal-data collection to child screens.
